Because You Deserve Rest
For many of us, it’s a long weekend. If this is you, you get to take a much-needed break and just relax. While you might still have to periodically check in, because do we ever completely unplug as Comms professionals? You should, hopefully, have less on your plate.
So how are you spending your weekend? Long or not, this weekend signifies the end of Q1 and ushers us into Q2. We hope you are excited because we definitely are.
We’re looking forward to an interesting and packed couple of months but before we get ahead of ourselves, we have to maximise this weekend.
How you may ask?
Relax, recharge and repurpose.
Sometimes, going back to the reason you started is all you need to refuel yourself for new challenges and opportunities.
So we encourage you to take some time to take care of your mind as you care for your body.
Q2 is upon us and we can’t wait to see the new heights our community members will reach.
Let’s meet our Community Member of the week!
Meet Mildred Thabane, Founder and CEO of Pekuzi Projects Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Mildred plans to open a restaurant when she retires from Communications. The good thing is that she already has a customer base in the community.
While she doesn't have a favourite quote, she tends to gravitate to different quotes based on where she is in her life. Currently, her favourite quote is this one by F.M Alexander, “ People do not decide their futures, they decide their habits and their habits decide their futures”.
You can connect with Mildred Thabane here on LinkedIn.
This week’s resource was created to encourage Comms professionals.
In this insightful video, our Co-Founder, Adedoyin Jaiyesimi, shares a very familiar pain point for Comms professionals and helpful tips on how to handle it.
This is a very relaxing watch, so here’s the link.
Finally, we have a few community updates.
