Embracing new things
Are you a creature of habit? You know, you love to do things the way you’ve always done them. And you don’t see the need to break away from the status quo.
Having your way of doing things is great. But…yes, there is a but! You should also be open to embracing new things.
Just take a look at the Comms/ PR space. Things are always changing. In fact, some of us are finding it hard to keep up.
But that commitment to embracing (and also trying) new things can be a super valuable asset for you.
So, open your mind to a new way of doing what you do already. Who knows what gems you may unlock!
With that, let’s give you the updates from this week.
Q and A With…
You know we walk the talk at TCA. That’s why we’re piloting something new in the community - a conversation with comms professionals within and outside the community.
Q and A With… will happen on selected Friday evenings on Telegram and the first one will hold on Friday 30th September by 7pm GMT/ 8pm WAT/ 9pm SAST/ 10pm EAT. Save the date and literally tune in next Friday!
Transitioning to Comms Guide
We’re working a number and resources and guides which we believe will be useful to comms professionals across the content.
The first guide which will be released next Thursday is the Transitioning to Comms Guide. This Guide is for those who are still finding their feet in Comms. Do look out for the release.
Are there guides that you need currently in your professional journey? Tell us what guide/ resource you need, and we’ll work on making it happen.
Host a hangout in your location!
Last week, we had a great hangout with community members in Abidjan.
We love it when community members meet up and we’d like to invite you to host a hangout in your location. If you’re in Senegal, Tanzania, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and other countries in Africa and you’d like to host a hangout, kindly send an email to letstalk@thecommsavenue.com.
PS - We have hangouts in Ghana and Kenya already scheduled. Watch out for more information.
