Growth Never Ends
Hello professional,
We hope you’ve had a great week so far. At TCA, we’re buzzing in anticipation as we prepare for the kickoff of the Seventh batch of the CMP. Watching these young professionals across the continent get mentored and seeing them grow is always an amazing experience. Also, we get to do this for the seventh time!
This week, we have a few questions for you…
Are you growing?
What does growth mean to you?
These are important questions to ask because as Comms professionals, our work can seem endless. Unless we’re intentional, we tend to put our own growth on the back burner.
However, no matter what your schedule looks like, it takes prioritising your professional development to truly see results.
Last Friday, Team TCA spent part of the day training the team at Redrick PR, an agency in Lagos, Nigeria, on Pitching and Presentations. We were impressed with Redrick PR because of the organisation’s dedication to upskilling its team members.
Our Co-Founder, Sharon Adaigbe, alongside Toyosi Ajayi, Principal Consultant, Stage Africa Media and Advisory facilitated this valuable session and there was so much to learn!
One of the highlights of this training was the practical pitch session where the team members were split into groups and given time to create a presentation and pitch it to the class. It was beautiful to see their passion to learn and grow and we can’t wait for the next session with them.
And it just goes without saying that there are numerous ways to proactively contribute to your growth but no matter how you go about it, you have to take a step.
We encourage you to set a small goal towards your professional growth. Watch one video, join one webinar, start a course or maybe even have a conversation with a colleague concerning grey areas.
Oftentimes, a small step taken consistently can lead to great results.
