Does the word ‘community’ seem overused to you? Maybe it’s lost its meaning and you scroll past every post or ad about another new community. You might even consider it another buzzword or tactic organisations use to improve their bottom line.
However, community means so much more to us at The Comms Avenue. It’s an opportunity to connect with you, learn from and to impact and be impacted by you. For us, community is a two-way street. There’s Team TCA on one end, on an endless quest to add value to professionals. On the other end is you, engaging, connecting, networking and growing.
You are our community and being a part of your professional journey is something we do not take for granted. It’s always a thing of excitement for us when we see you excel, get promoted or maybe even get a new job. We are passionate about your professional success and this is part of what drives us at TCA.
So the next time you feel doubtful about community, remember what The Comms Avenue community stands for.
Let’s get into our favourite section of the newsletter - celebrating you.
Meet our community member of the week!
Hello TCA, my name is Ogundele Stephen, I live in Nigeria and I’m the Marketing & Communications Manager, at Spacefinish.
I enjoy watching documentaries. They serve as a boundless well of inspiration, offering real-life narratives that fuel my creativity. I get to learn about narrative techniques, diverse aspects of worldviews and visual storytelling elements which I’m passionate about.
A quote I live by is from Wallace D. Wattles, “Do not wait for a change of environment before you act. Cause a change of environment through action. You can act upon your present environment so as to cause yourself to be transferred to a better environment”.
You can connect with Stephen here on LinkedIn.
Our resource for this week will inspire you to embrace the transformative power of mentorship.
The CMP Impact Magazine documents the career growth and transformation experienced by professionals who were mentored in our Comms Mentoring Programme. With over 200 professionals mentored since the first batch of the programme in 2020, we are only just getting started.
If you’d like to spend your weekend getting inspired, you can download the full magazine here.
